If you are the hand a crew asks for by name, or you have one on your crew you could not replace, tell us. This was built for the person in the seat, and nothing is asked of you before the terms are written. When they are, you will see them before anyone asks you for anything.

Tell us what you run and what people ask you for by name. Your skill is yours, always and forever, and nothing you tell us changes that. The family is working it out on its own crews first, and we would like to know who you are.
If you own the machines
Tell us which seat you cannot fill and what it costs you when it is empty. It is the conversation we most want to have.
If you represent operators
A union, a hall, a training centre or an association. This was written to be something you could stand behind. Tell us where it falls short now, before anything is signed.

Sending opens your own mail program with the message written out and addressed to [email protected], and nothing is stored on this site.
The few things that let a person answer you the first time.
Beyond your name and your address, none of it is required. A message with those two on it gets an answer. The rest saves a reply asking for it.
If it is your way of working
- What you run: the machine, and the family of machine it belongs to.
- The work people ask for you on, and who does the asking.
- Whose machine it is: yours, your employer's or somebody else's. The covenant carries two more points for when your employer is the one recording you.
- What you would want to know before you said yes to being recorded.
If you own the machines
- The seat that goes unfilled, and for how much of the year.
- The family of machine, and the ground it works.
- Whether you want your own operator teaching your own machine, or a specialist's way of working licensed by name. They are different things, and the answer is different.
- Who on your crew would choose whose way of working runs, and clear the job.
Safety
- What you would need to walk up to and check before a recorder went on a machine on your site.
- Where you would expect a way of working to sit in the order of authority. Ours sits last, under every person.
- The claim you would refuse from any vendor who called this a safety device. We say it is not one.
If you represent operators
- Which body you speak for, and whether it has a say in whether recording happens at all.
- Where the covenant falls short as it stands, clause by clause if you can.
- What you would need to see before you could stand behind it.
If none of these is you, write anyway. The last choice on the form is there for you, and a message that fits no box is still read by a person. If what you want is your own way of working kept for your kids, that has a page of its own and the same address.

A person reads it
Your message lands in a mailbox that a person reads. There is no ticket number, no queue to watch and no reply written by AI. The person who answers is sometimes in a seat, so a reply can take a few days, and it is still a reply from somebody who read what you wrote.
You get one answer
A reply to what you asked, in the same words we use on this site. If the answer is that we do not know yet, the reply says so rather than dressing it up.
Nothing is signed
A message is not an agreement, on your side or ours. The agreements are being written now, and when the terms are settled they go up on this site in plain words. Nobody signs anything before then.
Then quiet, unless you asked
Say in the message that you want to hear when the terms are settled, and you will. Say nothing about it and you hear nothing more, because a second message you did not ask for is a form of chasing.

Even Steven is one company in a family of them. The others run machines and crews for a living, which is where the first recordings come from and why the family's own people go first. Even Steven itself makes nothing that moves. It is the agreement, the roster and the pay that sit underneath somebody else's machine, and it was built for you: so that what you know stays yours, is there to use on your terms, and pays you.
They are old enough to distrust AI too. So it is built the way it is: you are asked, you are paid every hour it runs, your name is on it, you can end it, and your skill stays yours.
The machines in the frame are the ones the crews sit in.
The first recordings are made on home ground: the yard, the feedlot, the earthworks. They are made on the family's crews, before anyone outside is asked for anything, and the people who answer your message are the people working it out there first.
A smaller company than the address suggests, and a slower reply than a help desk. The same people will be across the table when the terms are settled.
